Class: Yoga

Cost: $5/class or $20 for all 5
Description: A custom yoga class based on participants as a whole and individual abilities. Pearl Cash is the yoga instructor, a long-time valley resident that loves her yoga, and loves teaching it! Each class lasts one hour. Please send your name and phone number to Pearl so she can prepare a check-in sheet or contact you in case of class changes to Pearlcash406@gmail.com or text 406-240-2597. Please arrive a few minutes early to get settled and set your spot up for class.
What to bring: Bring water, a mat, blanket, and your smiles. Wear layers to adjust for cool floors.

Class: Introduction to Tai Chi

Cost: This is a donation-based offering, suggested donation is $5.
Description: Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese mind-body exercise, and a form of Qigong, rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, martial arts and Chinese philosophy. Training with a calm mind in the slow, circular and intentional movements of Tai Chi strengthens and integrates the mind and body. An excellent exercise for persons of all ages and all abilities, tai chi enhances relaxation, focus, posture, balance, strength, coordination, immune response and mood. All practices can be performed standing or while seated in a stationary chair.
What to bring: Comfortable and non-binding layered clothing, socks or flexible soled shoes, and water bottle.

Class: Introduction to Restorative Yoga

Cost: This is a donation-based offering, suggested donation is $5.
Description: Restorative yoga is the contemplative practice of coordinated breath and movement. Postures, or asanas, are gentle, low intensity and forms are held for longer durations to encourage deep rest and relaxation. During this class you be invited to the floor in varied seated and lying positions. Restorative Yoga is an excellent practice to promote cool down following a workout, promote a restful night’s sleep, relieve stress, lower blood pressure and manage chronic pain.
What to bring: Comfortable and non-binding layered clothing, yoga mat and a water bottle. If you have personal yoga props such as blocks, bolsters, pillows and blanket, please feel free to being them. You will not require props for participation, but if you bring them, I will demonstrate some uses. The goal is to get comfortable and allow your body to relax.

Title: Yoga Nidra Meditation

Cost: This is a donation-based offering, suggested donation is $5
Description: Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a method of deep rest and relaxation. The practice may be performed while seated but is most commonly performed in a reclined “nested” position, allowing pillows and/or blankets to support and comfort you body. While your physical body begins to relax, this guided meditation draws your awareness inward through the Koshas. In Yogic philosophy, the 5 Koshas, or layers are 1) the physical 2) energetic 3) mental/emotional 4) higher intelligence and 5) bliss. The purpose of this practice in deep rest to become the observer of yourself. This practice has been implemented as a part of many medical practices to help manage pain, reduce stress and help regulate sleep patterns.
What to bring: Comfortable and non-binding layered clothing, yoga mat and a water bottle. 1-3 pillows and a blanket are suggested but not required. The goal of this meditation is to reach a state of deep rest.

Title: Save the Hatch! The Salmonfly Project
Instructor: James Frake

Description: James Frake is the co-founder of The Salmonfly Project and an avid fly fisherman. He understands the ecological, economic, and cultural importance of aquatic insects. Come learn about his research on aquatic insects suggesting that declines of salmonflies, as well as other sensitive species, are likely due to complex, interacting stressors in western rivers, including warming water temperatures, drought severity, and increasing levels of pollution. This program is brought to you by the Ninemile Wildlife Workgroup.

Description: Beaver-created wetlands provide many benefits including reconnecting floodplains, storing water, retaining sediment, and cycling nutrients. Beaver activity is also critical for wildlife habitat and helps build resilient, healthy ecosystems. Join beaver experts Elissa Chott from the National Wildlife Federation and Torrey Ritter from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to learn about beaver complexes, benefits to stream systems, and how to mitigate impacts of activity near infrastructure.
