Christmas Eve in the Nine Mile Valley
December 24th, 5:30pm, Service begins at 6:00pm
This long-standing Nine Mile community tradition began years ago and was kept alive by long time valley resident Carol Guthrie. Carol has since sadly passed, however valley residents have happily continued the tradition and the Nine Mile Community Center Board of Directors established the Christmas Eve fund in her honor. This traditional gathering begins inside the Nine Mile Community Center Historic Church with a non-denominational service, reading of the Christmas Story, singing of Christmas carols, remembering those that left us in the past year, music, laughter and love! Following the service, we all flow outdoors to the campfire for warmth, and snack on numerous potluck items brought by the community. An event where we meet new and old friends, bring your own beverage and a goodie of sorts to eat, and be ready for laughter and joy! this event if for all ages - dress warm as it is outside.
