Apple Fest
October 2025
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The Apple Fest began as a way to help local residents glean the fruit from their trees, in order to discourage bears foraging in the fall. The event changes from year to year and has consisted of displays from the Defenders of Wildlife and the Ninemile Wildlife Working Group to chili cookoffs, apple dessert competitions, hearty lunches, hayrides, live bluegrass music, and of course pressing apples and making cider! We have done all versions of the previously listed activities from the basic apple-pressing all the way to everything listed. Whether a simple apple pressing event to a full-blown fall festival, one thing is for certain - we always have lots of fun! So, we hope you join us this fall for our apple pressing event! More information will be available upon the release of the Griz game schedule ;-)

The simplicity or complexity of the event is solely based on volunteers! Do you want to bring back the dessert baking contest? Or maybe you want to help with the hayride? Interested in being a volunteer for this event? E-Mail Us!
Cider Pressing
Bring any apples or pears from your fruit trees and volunteers will press it into cider. Take home some cider in your own clean, quart-size container, or purchase a NMCC growler for $20.
Hearty Harvest Lunch
Feed the family without spending a fortune. Proceeds benefit the Nine Mile Community Center.
Music
Local bluegrass musicians will play throughout the day to keep the toes tapping and the cider pressing humming.
Hayrides
Take a spin up the road to soak up the beautiful sights of the valley and [hopefully] some warm autumn sunshine.
Chili Cookoff/Apple Dessert Contest
An amazing way to discover the Chili and Dessert making talents of the locals! The delicious aroma along with fall scents, truly make the event a fall classic.
